Message	If the engine is cold, grab the fan and spin it.. if its difficult or doesn't spin at all, your fan clutch is shot and the noise you're hearing is the fan spinning way faster than it's suppose to, it'll sound like a jet engine (sorta) as the rpm's go higher. If it moves freely, then this is likely not it, but at least it's another possibility to check.
